چکیده

Re-polymerization reactions are a commonly reported issue on the way to higher recovery of monomers from lignin. The reactivity obtained lignin depolymerization and their contribution re-polymerization in supercritical water (SCW) was investigated. Sulfonated Kraft (SKL) used along with four monomers: vanillin, vanillic acid, vanillyl alcohol acetovanillone. Indulin also employed as reference understand SKL SCW. formation diarylmethane structures detected HSQC spectra solid residue after SCW process. Lignin released fragments free phenolic β-O-4 structures, well monomeric product involved o-o´ o-p´ structures. Chemical structure its polymeric process remarkably similar, shown by HSQC, indicating that occur through cross-linking polymerization, mainly fractions low molecular weight products. • Study role model compounds Reactivity without sulfonated kraft followed presence cause an increased yield heavier assigned Reaction mechanism for diarylmethanes is proposed

Reactions of Model Compounds with Supercritical Water

The possible use of supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of coal to obtain cleaner, more versatile fluid products is of significant interest. Some fluids have the opportunity to participate as reactants at process conditions, which may yield extracts of very different compositions than those obtained from other treatments and which will be dependent on the fluid used. Thermodynamic consideratio...

Experiences of Kraft Lignin Functionalization by Enzymatic and Chemical Oxidation

Linear hydrophilic derivatives are expected to soften lignin and improve its utilization in composite applications. Oxidation by means of laccase in the presence of oxygen was employed in an attempt to functionalize commercial kraft lignin by vanillic acid-PEG ester and ether derivatives. Thielavia arenaria and Melanocarpus albomyces laccases at pH 6 and 8 were used. According to O2 consumption...

Lignin Separation from Kraft Black Liquors by Tangential Ultrafiltration

I n chemical pulping a large part of the wood is dissolved during digestion. The dry matter content of the generated black liquor is typically 12 to 18 wt% [1, 2]. In the case of kraft black liquors four main groups of organic constituents are present, 30-45 wt% ligneous material, 25-35 wt% saccharinic acids, about 10 wt% formic and acetic acid, and 3-5 wt% extractives. It also contains about 1...

Adding Value to Lignin by Oxidation in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

BODY: The properties of lignins as emulsification agents in systems composed of water and oil are presented. Laboratory and industrial Kraft lignins were characterized in terms of surface activity and phase behavior in equilibrated Lignin−Oil−Water systems. Lignin−based emulsions were obtained for oil fractions of different Equivalent Alkane Carbon Number. The properties of emulsions obtained a...

Reductive de-polymerization of kraft lignin for chemicals and fuels using formic acid as an in-situ hydrogen source.

In this study, formic acid (FA) was employed as an in-situ hydrogen donor for the reductive de-polymerization of kraft lignin (KL). Under the optimum operating conditions, i.e., 300 °C, 1 h, 18.6 wt.% substrate concentration, 50/50 (v/v) water-ethanol medium with FA at a FA-to-lignin mass ratio of 0.7, KL (Mw∼10,000 g/mol) was effectively de-polymerized, producing de-polymerized lignin (DL, Mw ...
